What is Snakewords?
SnakeWords is a word puzzle game where you build words by connecting letters in a grid.
Getting Started
Each game takes place on a grid filled with letters
Your goal is simple:
- Find hidden words
- Build them by connecting letters in order
- Complete the grid as efficiently as possible
Core Idea
You don’t just guess words—you discover them
- Each valid word you find is added to your progress
- Words come with definitions so you can learn as you play
- - Your completion percentage increases as you uncover more of the grid
How to Make Words
- Start on any letter
- Drag or connect letters to form a valid word
- If correct, the word is added and revealed in the grid
You can also:
- Undo letters in snake by moving backwards
- Explore different paths to find hidden words
Hints
Hints are not random clues.
They are:
- Definitions of three hidden words in the grid
Use them wisely—they point you toward real answers
Progress System
At the top of the grid, a small character shows your progress.
- His position reflects how much of the puzzle you've completed
- In multiplayer, you will also see your opponent's character
Tap either character to view detailed stats.
Player Stats
You can view detailed performance data, including:
- Progress (% completed)
- Total points
- Number of guesses
- Correct vs incorrect guesses
- Accuracy rate
- Guess confidence (affected by undoing moves)
- Guesses per minute
- Time played (pauses when the game loses focus)
Scoring System
Points are not just based on word length.
SnakeWords uses a weighted system that considers:
- Letter rarity
- Digraphs (e.g. “th”, “ch”)
- Uncommon letter combinations
This rewards skill and pattern recognition—not luck.
Multiplayer
In multiplayer mode:
- You play the same grid as your opponent
- You can see their progress in real time
- Stats are available for both players
Compete to see who solves the puzzle more efficiently.
Tutorial
If you’re new, you can play the guided tutorial.
It introduces the basics using a simple grid with the letters: P L A Y
Across three steps, you’ll see:
- how words are formed
- how shapes evolve as you build paths
- how gameplay mechanics connect together
You can skip the tutorial at any time.
You can help me too
Building games takes a lot of time and energy, especially when caring so much for how user data is handled and more importantly how it is not handled.
- No ads
- No pay-to-win mechanics
- No hidden tracking
Ads and their eco-system are inherently evil, so I have adopted a "Pay as you like" payment system. As the name suggests, you can pay as little or as much as you like (even nothing) by visiting my Ko-fi page, thank you.
